Growing up on a farm, I started shooting at a very young age. My father was heavily involved in shooting and helped run a local shoot and I developed my love for shooting as a result of it being a major part of my upbringing. My background is in game shooting and I got into clay shooting later on. I am passionate about shotgun shooting and enjoy sharing my knowledge and expertise with others. With my instruction, you’ll develop confidence and improve your shooting skills, no matter your level of experience. Whether you’re interested in learning the basics of shooting or want to improve your skills and scores, I’m here to help.

As an experienced shotgun shooter, and APSI (Association of Professional Shooting Instructors) qualified shooting instructor, my goal is to teach you the proper technique and safety measures required to succeed in the sport. I offer personalised tuition based on your individual needs and goals, whether you’re learning for fun or competition.

One-to-One instruction. The price is for instruction only. Clays and cartridges are extra.

£50.00/hour

£ 30 /hour -Junior

Group lessons can be arranged and will be based on a maximum of 5 pupils per instructor. Price will depend on size of group. Please call to discuss.

Would you like some expert tuition whilst on your game day? I can join you on the peg to load and instruct on every drive to ensure you enjoy and get the most out of the day by honing your shooting skills. Please get in touch for prices and availability. I started clay pigeon shooting in January 2024 and booked a gun safety lesson followed by 6 further lessons at Atkin Grant and Lang. I was assigned Pip as my instructor. It was my plan to use the lessons to see if I liked the sport then if I did apply for my shotgun certificate and once received continue on at my own pace, being new to this sport I wasn't great. Pip however, is a great coach, he not only has the ability to identify reasons why I miss targets but make recommendations in simple terms to help me improve. He is continually testing me shoot at more and more challenging traps which I really enjoy, whilst giving continual encouragement and identifying the best way for me to shoot each trap. I am now hitting twice as many clays as I did when I started. I enjoyed the first lesson so much with Pip that I applied for my shot gun certificate immediately after, purchased my own gun after the third (which now lives at AGL until I get my certificate) and bought a further 6 lessons. I have currently completed about 8 or 9 lessons and planning to continue one a month even after I get my certificate to make sure that I do not develop bad habits and to help me continue to improve. Pip has a safe but casual teaching method which is both instructive and fun and I would recommend him to anyone

My 11 year old daughter Charlee has had around a dozen lessons with Pip and as her Dad I can see myself booking a few in the future. Pip has a very natural way of calming her nerves and inspires her to be a very confident young shot. We cannot praise Pip enough for what he’s taught our daughter and would happily recommend him to anyone wanting to refine or take up clay pigeon shooting.
